It seems an age since I posted on my blog and blame Time with its ability to run away leaving me wondering how it is August now.
A busy few months with trips to Malta — research, trip to Holland – teaching and various UK journeys seeing family and clients.
The summer has been glorious and reminded me of the summers in my childhood when it was hot all day every day.
My Grandchildren grow almost overnight and the 3 little girls have now been joined by 1 tiny boy- addressing the need for balace in all things.
I met a wonderful lady in my studio who commissioned me to design and make her a Nuno felted jacket.
Well it has been quite a journey finding out about my client, her work, her believes and what has come across to me is a Strong Woman who holds empathy and understanding of all women.
As I made the colours I constantly consulted her as to likes dislikes etc and then when we had the pallette it was time to make screens to get design onto our silks.
Colour undertone of Purple flashes of fuschia, ochre popping in,whilst deep purpke glowing through the silk next to pinky undercurrents.
No woman lives her life without scars inside and out so leaving vague linear markings of unfelted silk gives us fabulous noticed scar lines gained in lifes battles on certain parts of the garment some seen some unseen and all part of the design. They also have the ability to be pronounced or lay there .
Silks drying in the wind and sun. Now to the pattern drafting for the design in my head.
